Hello Dr Richard Mossey IBM Ring 41 Members and Friends!

Our next meeting is May 25, 2016 at the Tripoli Shrine starting at 7:00pm CST.

Part One: Dr. Richard Mossey: Magic: The Golden Age of Magic. Dr Richard Mossey will present a retrospective view of magic. He has had personal experience with the “masters” unlike most magicians today.  Don’t miss out as Dr Mossey recounts the many stories and tricks done by the likes of Blackstone, Dante and Okito, among others.

Part Two: Tricks of the Masters. Once Dr. Mossey finishes his presentation, the second half of the meeting will feature “The Tricks of the Masters.” So dig out your close-up, parlor or stage tricks that originated or were performed by a past master. Houdini, Hoffman, Hilliard, Tarbell, Baker, Bobo or Vernon; the possibilities are endless. Show a trick and explain why you like the trick or the magician.

Part Three:  Annual Elections. Once again, the Dr Richard Mossey Ring will hold elections for officers at our May 25th meeting. Please nominate and vote any current member for the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Sergeant of Arms. I implore all our compeers to consider volunteering for any one of these positions. Help make Ring 41 be the best it can be so we can continue to promote the art of magic! We can only be as vital as the commitment you are willing to make.

June Guest Lecture. Our last meeting of the year (June 29, 2016) before the summer break will feature a lecture by Steve Reynolds!

Steve Reynolds is a corporate entertainer, writer, and lecturer from New Orleans, LA.

Steve has performed and lectured all over the U.S. and Canada. He has been a featured performer at the World Famous Magic Castle in Hollywood and the House of Blues in New Orleans.

To become a good teacher, one first must be a good student. Steve Reynolds has spent over twenty years diligently studying the art of close-up magic. He is highly regarded as being a refined technician of the devilish details that secretly nourish his artistry and creates spontaneous and seemingly effortless mysteries—mysteries that emotionally connect while satisfying audiences of every pedigree. Over the years he has developed and honed a philosophy of performance that he calls The Monk’s Way.

Steve teaches and illustrates with examples The Monk’s Way during his lecture sessions. In a step-by-step fashion he drills down to the gold and platinum, to a mother lode of what really counts. He highlights differences that make a difference. He shows you how to infuse subtleties into your simplifications. He will purify your methodologies and will clarify your presentations.

As always, the lecture will only cost IBM Ring 41 members five dollars. For all other guests the cost will be twenty dollars at the door.
