The December meeting will also be a duel topic meeting. The first half will be:

Holiday Themed Magic

Magic Tricks with themes appropriate for a the specific holiday. Here are some themes:

Halloween Magic (seances, ghosts, Houdini remembrance)

Thanksgiving (“Turkey Magic” Or Magic I should have not bought)

Winter holiday magic (Christmas, Hanukah Magic, etc.) St. Patrick’s Day

New Years Magic

Valentine’s Day (sweetheart or magic with a love theme) April Fool’s Day

National Birthday (independence day, loyalty day or other patriotic event)

The Second half of the meeting will cover:

Magic For Different Audiences

Ring members can lecture, discuss or present magic in which they may have expertise. Some examples are:

Birthday parties

Restaurant magic

Cruise ship

Trade show or corporate magic

Comedy clubs

School shows

Theme park

Strolling or street magic

Performing Magic with Greater Impact

Lawrence Hass, Ph.D., is the Associate Dean of the McBride Magic & Mystery School and Professor of Humanities (specializing in philosophy and theater arts) at Austin College.

Larry Hass creates magic shows that mix astonishing, artistic magic with ideas that lift the spirit.  He performs at theaters, nightclubs, universities, art museums, private parties, medical schools, public conferences, and corporate events all across America and internationally.  He performs regularly in Las Vegas and at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California.

Dr. Hass has won multiple awards both as a writer and as an inspirational teacher of magic.  He is the author or co-author of several internationally best-selling books for magicians, including Inspirations: Performing Magic with Excellence (2015), Transformations: Creating Magic Out of Tricks (2007), The Show Doctor (with Jeff McBride, 2012), and Gift Magic (2010).

Larry’s visionary approach to magic has been featured in leading international media, including the New York Times, USAToday, The Chronicle of Higher Education, on National Public Radio and the Discovery Channel, and in his recent TEDx Talk.
